Find Component from Element

Hi,

after spending endless hours on trying to find the tree node that another element is dropped on (http://www.extjs.com/forum/showthrea...-is-dropped-on) I am quite confused about DOM nodes and tree nodes and other components...

Is there really no arrow pointing from Element upwards?

Yes, you can get the component from the element by doing Ext.getCmp('element-id')....

That won't always work. Why do you need to do that in the first place?
