Thread: Disable combobox autofill on tab keypress

    Default Disable combobox autofill on tab keypress

    As stated, I have a combobox that has an autocomplete functionality in that it will recommend data to the user. However, the user may not always want to use this...but if the user starts typing (Say they type in 'Ra'), if there is anything in the autocomplete options, if the user presses the Tab key, it will autocomplete with the first option. Is there some way to disable this? So far, I've tried this:

    Code:
    'specialkey' : function(field, evt) {
        if (evt.getKey() == evt.TAB) {
            return false;
    }
    No dice with that. I know that it detects the keypress, and that it matches to the evt.TAB, but I have not found a way to stop it from autofilling.

    Have a look at the onChange listener. It may work for that.

    No luck on that either. I added an alert to both select and change events, and they both fire after the autofill has occurred, so whatever is causing this mind numbing issue is firing before these events.
