We've found that the qtip implementation won't work if you need to put a ' (quote) or a " (double-quote) in it (ie: any user-input really), since you can't escape values in HTML attributes.

The workaround we've managed to implement was escaping the qtip string before adding it to the qtip attribute, implementing our own El subclass, which unescapes the passed string when the update(String) is called on it.

This smacks of flakiness, but can't think of a better solution with the existing framework.
