SA version 4.2.9

Hi - This is probably more of a complaint than anything. I just installed SA version 4.2.9 and noticed that it still lacks support for the Froala Editor component in the 7.2/7.3 Classic framework. Why? It's been a full generation of SA since the introduction of Froala. I do appreciate the fact that SA was updated to support the new 7.3 framework, though, without having to wait 3 months for it to catch up. But it seems like a bit of a let down when SA doesn't support ALL the features of the current frameworks. Froala is just one example. One of the third-party extension developers I use doesn't even support SA any longer because it just doesn't have the muscle. It's a shame....this product could be so much more than it is. Better than nothing, I suppose.

Seems like support atm is more 'maintenance' than anything else. No new features, no promised 'custom class' at the application node level...

I think most momentum is going into the the new rebuild, and some 'support' updates coming here and there.

SA also doesn't have SQL data proxies also and many other updates.

Also stack overflow is the only place Sencha monitor Q&A anymore, not here on forums, just a few of us MVP's here now.

That seems odd. If properly monitored, it would seem these forums would be far more efficient to handle Sencha issues. I like StackOverflow, but it is sprawling. I would be concerned about issues getting the attention they required.

Something else I noticed that's a bit odd. SA 4.2.9 "ships" with ExtJS 7.3. The 7.3 framework is not even available for download yet on the support site. Cmd 7.3 is available as a download, though, and included with SA 4.2.9.

I hope you're right about focusing all their energy on the rebuild. I haven't heard a peep about it and I've asked our sales rep about it several times. All I get is "Sencha Architect is not going away". That's it. Not very reassuring.

The MVP's argued for the forums, which is why they are still here, internally they want Stack Overflow as that is what they are used to. We're still fighting to keep this alive, so for now just a few of us here.

SA is getting new releases, however as soon as Idera can replace it they will. Personally i'd say it will be 2021-22 before the new editor lands and in that time many great improvements can be made to SA.

Either way let me know what features you need and I'll push it to the dev team to put in the tracker.
