Default What to expect from updating Ext JS 6.6.0 to 7.1.0

    Hi,
we are on the verge of updating our existing Ext JS 6.6.0 to Ext JS 7.1.0. I read the upgrade guides, API changes and Sencha blog posts and understand that there are many bugfixes and improvements in the releases. Is there any performance impact to be expected or is there more information out there on this matter?

Can only share my experiences from two relatively large size Classic projects from 6.6.0 to 7.1.0 using Sencha Cmd.
Project size: Models (~20), Stores (~15), Views (~30) and Ext.Direct.

    • Absolutely zero issues in the code not single line of code needed to be changed
    • Major issues with fontawsome icons. All usages of iconCls settings such as "x-fa fa-*" needs to be revisited

Took about 3 hours to complete the upgrade, much time trying to find the correct fontawesome syntax and the correct renamed icon.

I had the same experience. The code works fine, but lots of icons have disappeared.

We migrated a large Classic project to 7.1 with very minimal changes.
    - combobox displayField vs displayTpl difference (possible bug)
    - font awesome 4 to 5 name changes
