    $ npm install -g @sencha/ext-gen

    I went well with this.

npm config set strict-ssl false is not a good thing for a commercial company. This should get fixed instead of people having to allow distrustful SSL certs.

I first logged in for [email protected] using my Sencha support credentials as shown below:

    C:\>npm login --registry=http://test.npm.sencha.com [email protected]
    Username: (amita.suri..walkingtree.tech)
    Password: (<default hidden>)
Email: (this IS public) ([email protected])
Logged in as amita.suri..walkingtree.tech to scope @sencha on http://test.npm.sencha.com/.

Then I tried to install ext-gen but it shows the following error:

    C:\>npm install -g @sencha/ext-gen
    npm ERR! code E403
npm ERR! 403 Forbidden: @sencha/[email protected]

npm ERR! A complete log of this run can be found in:
    npm ERR! C:\Users\Amita\AppData\Roaming\npm-cache\_logs\2018-07-25T10_41_54_
    095Z-debug.log

Please if someone can suggest where am I going wrong.

Yes. Due to some error in parsing characters, password with special characters wasn't working e.g. [email protected] didn't work. So after I changed my support portal password, it allowed me to install ext-gen tool very smoothly.

So use a weaker password is the fix? My password has special characters, I’d be unwilling to change that. I have been able to install from sencha’s npm server before so odd it doesn’t work for this new tool now for you.

This is pretty ridiculous that this isn't fixed!

    - I've tried changing my password.
    - I've tried setting ssl to false
    - Tried deleting my .npmrc and start all over again.
    - Tried upgrading npm

This seems like a pretty important thing? Customer pays for product... customer can't use product? I'm willing to debug the issue with you. Tell me what we need to do here... This is taking way to long to resolve. If the problem is on our end then we work together to figure it out.
