Thread: Ext 6.5 Classic - Window Ordering Not Right

Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTJS-25919 in 6.5.2.

Exclamation Ext 6.5 Classic - Window Ordering Not Right

While using the original Desktop Example (looks like windows XP) on ExtJS 6.5.0.775...

I noticed the Z-Index (i.e. window ordering) gets lost frequently. At random points the window on top will disappear to the back. I've noticed this occurs whenever a toast is visible on the screen. If I attempt to interact with the top most window while the toast message is visible, the topmost window goes to the back. I've also noticed this behavior when various animations are running (e.g. border region closing).

I've tested this on Chrome and IE in Windows 7 and both have the same issue. Oddly enough, I can only repeat this behavior when three or more windows are currently open. When only two or less are visible, the ordering appears stable.

    Hi,
This issue is very critical for us as we can't work with the application, the window always loose their real ordering and appear on-top and on-bottom unexpectedly.

    When will this issue fixed?

If it will not be fixed soon we will need to downgrade back to extjs 6.2 version.

I did not receive an estimate. My company decided it was best to downgrade. This version of ExtJS just isn't production ready. If you look in the forum, you'll see that there are also other critical bugs like this. It's unfortunate because I really like it. For now it's better to play it safe.

    The solution works for us.
When can we expect the official release with that fix?

Curious why 6.5.1 was released without the fix, the issue is critical for desktop apps.
