    Exclamation Chrome Update 59 Breaks All Charting in 5.1.X

    Our application is basically useless right now due to the latest Chrome update. It is easily recreated by going to:

    http://examples.sencha.com/extjs/5.1...bination-theme

    Then just toggle the series on/off by clicking "IE/Chrome/Safari", etc. This will cause Chrome to "Oh Snap".

    I would open a support ticket, but it seems the portal is down. This behavior is not replicated in our 6.2 apps.

    There is an existing bug report for this issue (EXTJS-25512).
    I have linked it to this forum thread.
    Unfortunately, there isn't a workaround available at this time.

    I'm trying to work through an upgrade to 6.5 in order to remedy this.... It's really not ideal, as it is a large task that is pushing back everything else. Also, I would have thought Sencha would have watched Canary chrome build to see this coming.

    I have exactly the same problem with 5.1.0.107 and can't afford to migrate the whole app to 6 at this time.

    So, while we've been working through the upgrade to 6, I've noticed that turning off all animations on charts seem so help it quite a bit. I'm able to load repeated charts, but it will eventually crash still but it takes much longer. It seems to be due to sprite animations.

    Small update to this issue, it's probably caused by this part of code in Ext.Number:

    correctFloat: function(n) {

    return parseFloat(n.toPrecision(14));
    }

    as I'm unaware what kind of value is n (and as it appears it's number), this is faulty part. parseFloat(n) has method toPrecision, numbers have not. So I've written this small override, application won't snap, but charts are not loading anymore.

    Workaround:

    Ext.define('overrides.Number', {
    override: 'Ext.Number',
    correctFloat: function(n) {

    // correct precision
    return parseFloat(n).toPrecision(14);
    }
    });
