Default Answered: ReactExt uses some React code that may soon go away

    Hi,

I see that ExtJSComponent is relying on some code that Facebook says may soon go away:

Are you planning to refactor it?

    Thank you,
    Yuri

  2. React 16 and the new Fiber architecture will bring many changes and force us to release a new version of ExtReact. We've been following the progress of Fiber for months and have a working implementation of reactor on fiber ready to go. We've actually been getting guidance from the React team about this for a while: https://github.com/facebook/react/issues/9192

In addition to fiber significantly reducing the amount of code needed to make reactor work, fiber is actually going to expose all of the APIs needed by reactor publicly. It's nice to see Facebook officially opening up React rendering to third parties.

Fiber has been in alpha for quite a while, so it will likely be many more months before a stable release, but we plan to follow it the whole way.

With the release of React v16.0 (Fiber) on September 26th (https://reactjs.org/blog/2017/09/26/react-v16.0.html), when will a version of ExtReact based on Fiber be released? My company is about to purchase our first ExtReact license. Will this new license be upgradable to this new version? Since I have only built a POC, using a 30 day trial, should I delay purchasing a license until this new version is available?

Any chance of EA/beta access for licensed users?

Sencha won't be able to make ExtReact work until Facebook release the react-reconciler package:

    https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-reconciler

The work has already been done at facebook, but it looks like they are waiting to release it with 16.1. Here is the PR: https://github.com/facebook/react/pull/10758
