Thread: Ext6.2.1 Classic:Combobox fires select event for invalid values

Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTJS-22852 in 6.7.0.

Default Ext6.2.1 Classic:Combobox fires select event for invalid values

    Hi,

When you have a combobox with forceSelection set to false, typing an invalid value will not be allowed(as expected), i.e the value will be restored to previous value, but this is also firing the 'select' event.

This appears like a bug, I believe the select event should not be fired for this scenario, same does not happen in ext 4.2.1 too.

    https://fiddle.sencha.com/#view/editor&fiddle/1opn
-> select a value from the combobox (an alert will be showed, as expected)
-> now type in some invalid value
-> this will also show an alert indicating the select event being fired for this too.

(note: set the version as 4.2.1 in the fiddle, and you wont see this problem)

Please do let me know if a bug has been submitted and whether it could be fixed in the next ext version.
Also, any workarounds (overrides) would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Nagarjuna

    Anyone knows anything on this?
We would really appreciate any viable workarounds or fixes(ext fixes/overrides we can put ourselves in our code base).
