On a bit more serious note, I think Uncle Bob describes quite well what's happening in Javascript world (and some other dev communities) in his blog post called "The Churn".
I'm so glad I use Ext JS. I once used jQuery and my client code was a mess. I also used PHP on the server back then, too, and it wasn't pretty either.

I've been learning JS and overall coding with jQuery, PHP and mooTools recently and felt the same way. "No one codes in HTML directly."
Lucky us! ExtJS exists!
