Default How to upgrade your workspace to latest Cmd and ExtJS

    Hi all,

this is how I upgraded my workspace to newest ExtJS/Cmd. After a few trials, this worked out really smoothly.

I use Sencha Cmd 6.1.2 and ExtJS 6.0.1
I use SVN, working in a 3-man team. To avoid surprises, I do a clean SVN checkout into c:\webapps\dev
Now I have sencha workspace in c:\webapps\dev
In the workspace my ExtJS framework is in c:\webapps\dev\ext
In the workspace I have two apps: c:\webapps\dev\User and c:\webapps\dev\Manager

I want to upgrade to Sencha Cmd 6.1.3 and ExtJS 6.0.2

    First, I upgrade Cmd:
    Code:
    cd c:\webapps\dev
    sencha upgrade
Then, I upgrade the ExtJS framework:
I download ext-6.0.2.zip and unpack it to c:\Downloads\ext-6.0.2
    Code:
    cd c:\webapps\dev
    sencha framework upgrade ext c:\Downloads\ext-6.0.2
Finally, I upgrade the individual apps:
    Code:
    c:\webapps\dev\User
    sencha app upgrade
    c:\webapps\dev\Manager
    sencha app upgrade
I make sure the apps build and work correctly. Then I SVN commit c:\webapps\dev

    That's it.
    Hope this will help someone

Thank you this was very useful.

    https://docs.sencha.com/cmd/guides/cmd_upgrade.html was not.

Thanks for the step by step. I would like to add that when I upgraded from 6.0.1 to 6.5.1 the apps appeared to be upgraded as part of the "framework upgrade" command. The messages indicated it was doing this and when I ran the "app upgrade" commands it reported that the apps were already up to date.

However, when I ran the app itself the version of Sencha being used was still reported as version 6.0.1. I had to run an "app refresh" command on each app before it actually picked up version 6.5.1.

Apparently the upgrade to 6.5 is different. Hope this helps someone.

    Hii Mark,
I have application build using Extjs6.0.2. Now, I have to update the existing application to 6.5.1 classic. Could you please provide how can upgrade Existing application the Latest Extjs6.5.1, Without complexity. It would be better if you provide Stepwise guide of up gradation. I am new at ExtJS.

    Thanks

You want to follow the same steps as described by @sytel above but then, at the end, refresh each application within your work space.

    Something like

    Code:
    c:\webapps\dev\User
    sencha app refresh
    c:\webapps\dev\Manager
    sencha app refresh

I have created the App using the above steps but the that I notice is that there is no.Sencha is present in the folder structure.
