Thread: Installing Sencha CMD 6, silently, with the compass extension

Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for SDKTOOLS-1231 in 6.0.1.76.

Default Installing Sencha CMD 6, silently, with the compass extension

I need to install Sencha CMD 6.0.0.202 on our build server. Our build server has no GUI, so I have to use the silent install option ('-q' in Sencha CMD 6.0.0, as mentioned at http://docs.sencha.com/cmd/6.x/intro_to_cmd.html#Linux)

Because I'm using it to build ExtJS 4 and 5 applications right now, I need the compass extension.

How do I enable the compass extension in a silent install?

From what I can tell, this feature is not implemented in Cmd. The default install of Cmd does not appear to automatically install the Compass extension nor do I see a way to force it to install during a headless install.

I created a feature request for this to be considered for upcoming releases.

FWIW (and for anyone else with this problem), I worked around this problem by copying the senbcha-compass directory from the extensions folder in my local install to our build server.

Will there be a Sencha Cmd 6.0.1 release soon? BTW, a possible workaround might be to use a response file for the unattended installation.

Bumping because this was not fixed in 6.0.1.76, and we really need it.

Did you try to install it with the --all or -a flags? The documentation is likely not updated yet. It won't install automatically unless the flag is set.

What I'm doing now is that I install a new version of CMD on my local Linux workstation with all the options set as needed and take the responsefile (/opt/Sencha/Cmd/./6.0.1.76/.install4j/response.varfile) in my case and use this to auto-install in puppet with "/tmp/${sencha_cmd_install} -q -varfile /tmp/response.varfile"

-q -a appeared to work for us now. Thanks Tristan. Please do get someone to update that documentation soon.

Still does not work even in Sencha Cmd 6.2.2. Tried both -a and --all options with no success.

    # /tmp/SenchaCmd-6.2.2.36-linux-amd64.sh -q -a

The installation directory has been set to /root/bin/Sencha/Cmd/6.2.2.36.
