Default Can not generate new app any more

I'm using cmd 4.0.2.67 and not matter what name I give the app or the directory I try to put it in, I get an error like below. Seems like CMD has left something bad behind I can't clean up after. (I'm in the ST2.3.2 directory when I run this)

    Code:
    C:\VCProject\SVCodeCampWeb\WebAPI\touch-2.3.2>sencha generate app zapp
    Sencha Cmd v4.0.2.67
    [ERR] sencha.generate.app requires these parameters:
path (The path for the generated application)

    C:\VCProject\SVCodeCampWeb\WebAPI\touch-2.3.2>sencha generate app zapp c:\temp\z
    app
    Sencha Cmd v4.0.2.67
[ERR] Path c:\temp\zapp is already a configured application named : CCApp
[ERR] Path c:\temp\zapp is already configured for application CCApp

    C:\VCProject\SVCodeCampWeb\WebAPI\touch-2.3.2>

    Code:
    sencha generate app zapp
Is missing the path which is required.

    Code:
    sencha generate app zapp c:\temp\zapp
It's telling you that directory is already an app

the directory is not necessary if you run this from inside the sencha directory. I stopped by sencha rwc today and Juris helped me out (thanks Juris). Turns out somehow my sencha directory was corrupt and simply replacing that (which I don't think I changed in any way) solved the issue. Juris took a backup of my corrupt sencha-2.3.2 directory and was going to do some research to see what happened but in any case, replacing it with a new one solved the issue.

    Code:
    cd /path/to/extjs
    sencha generate app zapp
Will always fail, you are not giving it a path to create your app. You wouldn't need the -sdk flag to point to the extjs directory because you are in it but the path of where to create your app is still required.

    Code:
    simoens:5.0.0.970 mitchellsimoens$ cd /Volumes/Data/releases/ext/5.0.0.970/
simoens:5.0.0.970 mitchellsimoens$ sencha generate app MyApp

    Sencha Cmd v5.0.0.160
    [ERR] sencha.generate.app requires these parameters:
path (The path for the generated application)
So yes, you don't need to set the -sdk to point to the sdk directory as you are in it but you need to specify the path to where the app should be created at.

I see what you are saying. I cut and paste too much. the first line of my quoted text above is wrong, but then I did it again in that windows and you can see I do have the path included. Juris verified that I was executing the correct command and it was always coming back with an error regardless.

I am having the same issue; unable to generate new app regardless of app name or directory location with this long format:
    Code:
sencha -sdk C:\Users\Knight\ext-4.2.1.883 generate app DemoApp C:\DemoApp
    Gives the message:
    Code:
    Sencha Cmd v4.0.0.203
[ERR] Path C:\DemoApp is already a configured application named : APP
[ERR] Path C:\DemoApp is already configured for application APP
However, if I navigate to the C:\Users\Knight\ext-4.2.1.883 folder directly and run this it worked:
    Code:
    sencha generate app DemoApp C:\DemoApp
This isn't a huge problem since the second way worked, but I know that the first way was how I've created new apps in the past, so I'm wondering why it isn't working anymore.

I think the problem is that in extjs5 when "we" generate the app from inside the sdk (extjs5.0.0) directory, it leaves little "turds" that mess us up from then on (in the sdk directory)I've found that if I follow the startup guide and don't run sencha from the sdk directory itself using a command like

    Code:
Sencha -sdk C:\VCProject\SVCodeCampWeb\WebAPI\ext-5.0.0 generate app TouchApp .
that things work all the time.I had to delete and replace my sdk directory with a fresh one.

Personally never use -sdk and run from the sdk dir itself

sounds like my theory is not correct about running from inside the sdk directory with extjs5. Juris has my bad sdk directory from when this happened the first time. maybe he has had a chance to see what corrupted it. I do know since I have stopped running cmd from the sdk directory I've not seen the problem.
