Thread: Tree.clear() before attach

    Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTGWT-3636 in 3.1.

    Default Tree.clear() before attach

    The Tree.clear() method fails on the first line if not yet attached. This causes a null pointer exception on the removeChildren() call. This method is automatically called when content has been loaded from the server, and prohibits loading of three content before the tree is added to the page.

    A possible workaround to this problem is to override the clear() method like this:

    Code:
            new Tree<V, String>(store, valueProvider) {
                @Override
                protected void clear() {
                    if (this.isAttached()) {
                        super.clear();
                    }
                }
            };

    This has been fixed in the 3.1 branch in SVN and nightly builds, and will go out as part of GXT 3.1.
