    Default Problem with IE 9 while using Extjs 4.2.1

    Hi Team,

    We have developed the application using Extj(4.2.1), the application working fine with Mozila/Chrome, but not working with Internet Explorer.

    when we trying to run our application in IE it's not working in first place, but after pressed F5(refresh) 4-5 times it works fine.

    Even some of the feature is not working in IE.
    e.g component.hidden = true/false(dynamically) is not working in IE as well.

    could you please help out in this matter.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Arvind

    Dont know if it helps - but almost all of my IE problems come from one of two issues :

    1) Extra ',' at the end of arrays/objects...
    eg.
    var a=[1,2,3,];
    var b={a:1,b:2,};

    2) using 'console.log'
    Unless the console is actually open - this breaks IE..
    (and of course - the first thing you do to find the issue is open the console and the problem goes away)

    You should look into using a tool like JSLint (http://jslint.com/) or JSHint (http://jshint.com/). These tools will help identify errors and potential problems in your code.

    Some IDE's have these tools built in so that any issues are identified as you code. I personally prefer WebStorm for JavaScript development (http://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm/)

    Hi Aravind,

    Provide us more info to assist you.

    Is there any errors in the console?

    As Agharde mentioned out the common issues of IE after fixing it application starts working in IE.

    Also, try adding meta tag in your main html file.

    Code:
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">

    Default I'm having the same problem with Ext.net 2.5 / Extjs 4.2

    My application is working with other browsers than IE (9, 10, 11, edge) as it returns JS failure that some objects are "null" or/and undefined. I tried:
    • Code:
      <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge, chrome=1" />
    • Code:
      gzip="false"
    • IIS compression off
    Nothing helped, and I don't see any places in my code that can produce these errors, because they occur when Extjs in (Ext.axd) try to set width to an object parent.
