With Sencha touch 2 now having the support to build native apps, why do we need phonegap? There seems to be a lot of qstns regarding making ST2 work with phonegap etc. Is it to get access to device features?

With Sencha touch 2 now having the support to build native apps, why do we need phonegap? There seems to be a lot of qstns regarding making ST2 work with phonegap etc. Is it to get access to device features?
There are still somethings that PhoneGap does to make it easier. Like camera access. Plus all the plugins PhoneGap has can be taken into consideration.
