Thumbs up Ext 2.0 Application: Filespots.com

    Hi Jack,

congrats to your new webdesign! Looks great!

We have just deployed a preview of our Ext 2.0 web application "Filespots". It is far from feature complete and there is still a lot to do, but it shows pretty well where things are going...

Currently, accounts are invite only. If anyone is interested, send me a private forum message and I will invite you.

Have a look at http://www.filespots.com where you can see some screenshots and tell me what you think!

    Greetings from Bavaria!

    Update:
If it's not in your public forum profile: don' t forget to include your email adress, so I can send you the invitation email.

    Update 10/05/2007:
A new version is now online:

    * Added right clicking context menus
    * Filespots are now automatically opened when files are dragged over
    * Own filespots are now grouped under "My Filespots" in the tree to make it a bit clearer that you can have more than one filespot
    * Added validation in the feedback form
    * Fixed a bug that occured when renaming files / folders

    More features are coming soon!

*wow*. The lengths you've gone to to maintain the vista 'illusion' are amazing. There was a post on Joel on Software (or somewher like it) recently about how important it is, when doing a non-native version of a familiar UI, to be *exactly* right, or else users feel that there is something wrong, but can't put their finger on it.

Remembering that article, for my Air / Ext app, which uses a wizard interface on first run, I spent ages trying to make it pixel-perfect, and it still 'feels wrong'. But it looks like you've got it exactly right, so, knowing how much work has gone into it, well done!
