    Exclamation IE9: Error in TextMetrics getTextWidth

    Ext version tested:
    • Ext 3.3.3

    Adapter used:
    • ext

    css used:
    • only default ext-all.css

    Browser versions tested against:
    • IE9
    • IE8
    • Chrome 12
    • Firefox

    Operating System:
    • Win 7

    • There is an error in TextMetrics.getTextWidth class, which calculates the wrong width when IE9.

    Test Case:

    Ext.onReady(function() {
    	new Ext.Viewport({
    		width : 300,
    		height : 300,
    		items : [ {
    			xtype : "button",
    			id : "b1",
    			text : "Shaggy & Scooby Doo"
    		} ]
    	new Ext.ToolTip({
    		target : 'b1',
    		html : '2 registros inseridos'

    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    • Example can be found in the tooltip button where the text breaking in two lines, because the calculated size for the container is less than required.
    • FireFox, IE8 and Chrome the example works perfectly.

    The result that was expected:
    • The tooltip button in one line

    The result that occurs instead:
    • The tooltip button in two lines

    I am seeing the same issue in 3.4.0

    EDIT: The issue appears to go away if I remove <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" ""> from my page...

    There is an override for this at on Ext.Tip.doAutoWidth
