Thread: HtmlEditor not firing the change event (4.0.1)

    Success! Looks like we've fixed this one. According to our records the fix was applied for EXTJS-3332 in a recent build.

    Default HtmlEditor not firing the change event (4.0.1)

    Hi,
    As illustrated by the code below, updating text in an HtmlEditor does not fire the change event (While a setValue behaves as expected).
    C.

    Code:
    ht = Ext.create('Ext.form.field.HtmlEditor', {
    	fieldLabel: 'try',
    })
    win = Ext.create('Ext.window.Window', {
    	layout: 'fit',
    	height: 200,
    	width: 300,
    	items: ht
    });
    win.show()
    ht.on('change', function(){console.info('change', this, arguments) });
    ht.on('sync', function(){console.info('sync', this, arguments) });
    ht.setValue('this is shown');

    Are you saying that the change event does not fire when typing into the htmleditor or something else?

    Hi christophe thanks for the report and sorry to take so long to get to it. Does this correctly describe your problem? If so I'll move it into our bug tracker

    REQUIRED INFORMATION

    Ext version tested:
    • Ext 4.0.2a

    Browser versions tested against:
    • Unknown

    Description:
    • 'change' event is never fired on an HtmlEditor

    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    • Create an HTML Editor
    • Listen for 'change' and 'sync' events on the editor
    • Change the editor's value programmatically

    The result that was expected:
    • The listeners should be called

    The result that occurs instead:
    • The listeners were never called

    Test Case:

    Code:
    ht = Ext.create('Ext.form.field.HtmlEditor', {
    	fieldLabel: 'try',
    })
    win = Ext.create('Ext.window.Window', {
    	layout: 'fit',
    	height: 200,
    	width: 300,
    	items: ht
    });
    win.show()
    ht.on('change', function(){console.info('change', this, arguments) });
    ht.on('sync', function(){console.info('sync', this, arguments) });
    ht.setValue('this is shown');

    Yep, that describes the problem. Seems 'dirtychange' is not fired either.
    Thanks for the answer
