Thread: s.gif with chunked transfer encoding - so many requests

  1. #1

Default s.gif with chunked transfer encoding - so many requests

In our application we can see a lot of 304 requests fired for s.gif and the approach we chose is to apply Expires header for some static image files including s.gif. It seems like first s.gif fetch comes with proper expires header but then after a series of s.gif requests been firing with response Transfer-Encoding chunked, but with improper Expires header set. Anybody have any idea regarding how it can be? We have Apache Server acting as reverse proxy for setting response headers and Weblogic Portal Server in the backend. If required I can send HTTPAnalyser Logs also. Thanks in Advance.

Sorry for being late. I tested this on IE6 and this is happening consistently.

    IE6 is buggy.

Maybe try configuring your server to only talk HTTP 1.0 to IE6.
