Thread: Hide safari mobile address bar

Default Hide safari mobile address bar

    Hi,
seems like there is no built in way to "hide" the address bar by scrolling it out of sight.
Using window.scrollTo(0, 1) causes rendering issues on orientation changes.
Is there a reliable method to get the address bar out of the way ?

    Thanks!

    PS. Sencha Touch is awesome!

I was able to get the bar to go away by bookmarking the page with a home screen button. Then we you load it you can't even tell you're in a browser.

    Thanks for you answer.
I am looking for a way to maximize screen real estate without bookmarking, though.

_mme_ , please post here if you got anything. I am trying to do the same thing. I am not expecting the users to add a home button...

Might want to try this from an old article I found. I don't have an iPhone to try it right now but can test it later this week with a friend.

That article has a typo in the html code it should be meta name not meta names. Here is Apple's main meta tag specific descriptions.

It works, but it seems that safari only scroll the adress bar up when the page has scrollable content.
My content fits the window, so the adress bar does not go away.

I think there is no solution. We have to wait until the final sencha touch release.
    Look: http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthre...ht=address+bar

Ext JS - Development Team :
"fullscreen: true just makes the component take up all the available space. We plan yo have support for hiding the address bar in the final release."
