I'm using 6.6.0.269 and still getting this error.
We are experiencing this issue using ext-6.5.3.29-20171129.
A button on a menuBar opens a popup, when closed, we see a config is null error and then menuBar stops working.
Same code with 6.2.1 was...

Reading in release notes, overlapping labels problem should be fixed, but trying 6.5.1.31, I don't see any improvement, labels are still unreadable as you can see below, and maybe there's a new bug...
