View Full Version : A dataStore question...

I have few questions on the dataStore.
I have a panel that has two grids.
The first one has a dataStore that talks to an existing dataBase and loads the required content.
The second one- we want to let the user create their own contacts, then the RPC call and then insert new user into the database.
i was wondering (for the second grid/DataStore) is it best to build/create a dataStore that temporarily holds data until passing it on to the service side?

I think the datastore manages dirty records, that you can later gather and send to the server. It's all in the configuration of your store.

i'll check into that.

What you describe is "what a Store (e.g. JasonStore) does." ~o)

Literally, this is the very reason for the Store object's existence.

If you define a Store to have an associated Writer object, the Store becomes a full CRUD engine, tracking the status of the records that you change, insert, or destroy and automatically communicating the status-changes to the host ... and dealing with the host's success-or-failure responses to those requests.

You simply tell the Store what is going on with the records, and the Store tells the host about it.
