I am to ext js some one could you help me how to download file from the application to save local folder. right now its showing open/save dialog the user request to remove this dialog and alert them successMessage afer the downloading file is saved to the local C:\Documents and Settings\Mydocuments\ApplicationName\FolderName\DownloadingfileName.

Browser security restrictions won't allow this kind of interaction.

The only way to do this is by using something like Flash, a Java applet or AIR.

Thanks for the reply. right now the .Net solution is running with Ext Js components where they used to download file showing Open/Save dialog box.

New Requirement is to download the file automatically in the following path C:\document and Settings\ProjectName\ApplicationName\PreDefinedFolderName
Also alert the user saying the file is downloaded successfully.

You get the save dialog automatically if you open a link (e.g. by using this (http://www.extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?p=385087#post385087)) and your server adds Content-Disposition: attachment to the response header.

But you can't set the save directory and you can't get a signal when it's done.
