View Full Version : XML Transformations

I'm fairly new to this library and was wondering if there's an easy way to perform XML transformations with XSL on the client.

The XML I'm dealing with is on a separate server and must be retrieved on the client due to some authentication it does. At times is too large to easily post back and perform the transformation on the web server. Technically, the XML could be split up and re-built on the web server before it is transformed, but I would rather do this on the client for simplicity (at least in my mind) and want to avoid parsing with javascript for debugging purposes.

I've written (rather poorly, I might add) a separate class to perform this skinning functionality and it seems to work cross-browser, but I was hoping there may be an undocumented skin function on the Ext.Element object where you could just pass in the xml and xsl urls.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You may want to Google "Sarissa". It's an "ECMAScript library acting as a cross-browser wrapper for native XML APIs".
