View Full Version : Inter Component Communication

Hi..I am new to extjs.
I looked into examples but all of them are relatively small.
I have looked into things where fire event and handle event stuff.
But if there are many ..components nested. I will have to pass event to propogate them.

for example
I have a viewport (border layout) with a treepanel on the west and a tabpanel in the center within which there is a grid panel.
Now when i select a node i want the grid to change .

My question is how can I directly call a function of grid panel from the treepanel.

I dont want the treepanel to call the viewport then the viewport will propogate to tabpanel and then gridpanel call its function to reload.

Components should be loosely coupled ...Thats means treepanel speaks... and just the grid listens..

Please help..with example if possible.
