View Full Version : Opening scripts, unexpected behaviour

When opening a script in Sencha Studio, it will open in a tab. When opening a second script, it will open in the same tab, in other words, the first script is closed.
There is no possibility to have two scripts (unchanged) opened at the same time.

Do you happen to have a screenshot showing the Sencha Studio window, with the list of files in your project, and the tab open?

We haven't seen this issue before. You should be able to have multiple tabs open at once.

I may not have been clear enough (English not being my native language).

It is indeed possible to have multiple tabs open at once. The problem is, when you open a tab, and then want to open another tab, as long as the first one is untouched (unchanged) the new tab will replace the first one, instead of placing it beside the first one. On the other hand, when opening a script in a tab, then make a small change and after that opening a second script, a new tab will open.

Hope this clears things up.

Getting old as a thread but saw this and this is by design. Many IDEs/editors are enabling this behavior (VSCode is by default this way) where if you single-click on a file it will open more as a preview. Either double-click or make an edit if you single-clicked or open the file to the side will keep the tab open. It helps when switching thru files often looking for something or quickly reading some code to figure out why something is happening.

I've found this functionality helpful but there are times where it'll close the tab when I actually wanted to keep it open so one of those "no perfect answers" for my workflow.
