Try calling npm install before npm start

if that does not work, a fiddle would be greatly helpful

I'm not sure how you expect fiddle to work with npm as it's a browser tool. If whatever you want to npm install has a built browser script hosted somewhere (like react is which is how ExtReact can work in fiddle) then you can use that but you can't simple expect fiddle to install some random module off npm so you can use it within fiddle, that'd be a security nightmare!
