View Full Version : Fiddle 2.0: unable to type closing square brackets and curly brackets

15 Nov 2016, 9:19 AM
With Fiddle 2.0 I'm unable to type closing square brackets "]" and curly brackets "}".
This makes it totally unusable (at least the editor)!!!
Obviously with Fiddle 1.x it worked.

Note that I'm using an Italian keyboard, so keystrokes are:
] --> Alt Gr + "+"
} --> Shift + Alt Gr + "+"

Opening brackets work correctly, here are their keystrokes:
[ --> Alt Gr + "è"
{ --> Shift + Alt Gr + "è"

Alt Gr is right-Alt.

I'm not too familiar with an Italian keyboard. There is code to prevent browser zoom that may be interferring here. Can you go to Ace Editor's Kitchen Sink (https://ace.c9.io/build/kitchen-sink.html) to see if you can use closing brackets there to rule out Ace Editor as the issue?

Thanks for fast reply!
I tested the editor at the provided link, but it works correctly.
I used it as-is: should I change the configuration on the left in some way?

If it can help, you can see Italian Keyboard Layout here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QWERTY#Italian
See the closing brackets on the left of "Enter" key.

Can I place a breakpoint somewhere in the JS code of Fiddle to help find the issue?

I've disabled the browser zoom prevention. Can you try it now to see if that was indeed the cause?

Yes, now it works correctly!

Let me know if you need other tests to re-enable the browser zoom prevention in some other way...
