combo box, fixed wdith base, wider drop down

We have a problem with the space on our application page, where the data is longer than we can conviently display in one field.. but this is a selection field, combo/dropdown.

I want to be able to make the dropdown list wider than the base field.

So, for example, I want the field and dropdown button to be 40 chars wide, but the dropdown list 60 chars to display the entire field width..

I have seen forcefit yes, and autosize.. but those force the base field ot the max data width.

anyone seen any example that make the dropdown expand beyond the field width?

Ext.form.ComboBox has a listWidth config option. That is what you're after.
