View Full Version : Trouble installing the plugin

I've downloaded the plugin with a view to install it but I come a cropper at the first step. The video and instructions say to simply download and click on the VSIX file. The download, however gives me a zip file that does not contain a VSIX file. What do I do to install the plugin with this file?

Thanks
Craig

What video and download link are you using? Was it from the email provided by [email protected] ?

Hi!
Tomorrow you should receive email about new public EA release. Pl. let us know if you are not able to download the VSIX file. Thanks.

No. It was from "[email protected]" and the title was "Sencha Visual Studio Plugin Early Access Download Instructions". It contained links to download the plugin, the install guide and the plugin webinar.

All links provided returned the .zip file.

Cheers

Our new Visual Studio Plugin EA version is now available, please see: https://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?306443-Sencha-Visual-Studio-Plugin-Early-Access-is-Now-Available

Give that a shot, and you'll have the newest version just released.

I have received the email from "downloads.sencha.com" entitled "Visual Studio Plugin Early Access Download" and followed the download process. Once again I was given a zip file, this time called "SenchaVSIX-6.0.0-ea.zip". Once again, I don't know what to do with it.

I there something that will convert from the .zip file to a vsix file? Do I need to copy the files into known locations?

Let me know of any other that you might need to help get this sorted.
Cheers

I just had the download email sent to my email account, and I get a vsix file when I click "Download Now." I've tried with Chrome on both OSX and Windows, as well as in Safari.

What are you seeing inside the zip, and what browser are you using to download the file?

Are you going through a proxy that is potentially scrubbing the file contents? You could try renaming the .zip to .vsix and see if that works.

Hi Chris,
I have been downloading the file using Internet Explorer. On your note I switched over to Chrome and it downloaded as a VSIX file correctly. That's an unexpected difference but I'm sorted now. Thanks for your help.
