Will Inspector be compatible with JRE 64bit on Windows in the future? It's asking for a JRE 32bit during installation, and locate the 64bit JRE throws an error.

We may attempt a 64 bit build at some point in the future.

Odd that you're hitting an error, I've got 64bit everything on my Windows 8.1 box and it runs fine. What's the error?

During installation I picked my jre 64bit exe from Program Files, and am getting this error:

MessageBox

The JVM found at C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_45\bin\java.exe is damaged. Please reinstall or define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed 32-bit JDK or JRE.

Thanks for the report! I have opened a bug in our bug tracker.

I get this also. Will there be a version with the JRE included like it is with Sencha CMD?

We may explore that. Honestly I didn't anticipate this being an issue, but we're using the same installer as Cmd so we have the ability to ship a JRE. I'll have to do a lot of testing to see how easy it is to work with everything, but the ticket has been opened and I'll explore before we hit GA.

Got the same error on Window 7 with 64-bit JDK version 1.8
After installation of 32-bit JDK 1.8, the issue was fixed.

I also ran into the same issue. Could it be that the installer requires a 32-bit JRE?

I'm getting the same, too. It's strange that the error message actually tells me to "Please reinstall or define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed 64-bit JDK or JRE" yet, it seems that it actually wants a 32-bit version?

Edit: I went and installed the 32-bit version and the SI installer still isn't happy (same error). I've confirmed that the JRE version is actually 32-bit (it would be handy if the plain old -version gave up this information already, but Java doesn't do handy, I've learned):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_65_32bit\bin>java -d64 -version
Error: This Java instance does not support a 64-bit JVM.
Please install the desired version.

Hi Marc

Have you tried both 32bit and 64bit Inspector installers? You can also try to install both 32bit and 64bit Java on your machine.

After install there is no difference in Inspector 32/64, so don't be afraid to use 32bit installer/Java even when you are on 64bit machine.

Please report if the problem still persists but we currently don't track any problems with Installer on any supported Windows version.

Hope it helps
Petr

The 32-bit version of SI installed fine, However, it now asks for an activation code. I have a Sencha Complete Premium Support license, is SI not included in Sencha Complete Premium? It was a 3-year purchase and expires in about 10 months.

I'll click "Activate Later" for now.

I would create a Support ticket so that Support/Sales can take a look at your account and see what you have (or don't have). I don't remember how the Activation Codes are setup -- but Support/Sales can definitely help.

I'd save your time. I dare say it's because my Sencha Complete 1 user license is not equivalent to a Premium pack. thanks anyway.
