View Full Version : Combo setValue call causes the combo to expand

I have a series of forms that are used to search grids on our site. There is a base class for the search form that the various versions of the form extend. The base class has a method for loading the user's previous search into the form when it opens. For combo boxes, if there is a value to set from the previous search, the code checks if the combo has a remote store and if it does it set up a load event handler that runs setValue after the store loads; then it manually loads the store. For most combo boxes this is working fine. But I recently set up a new version of the form that has a combo box, and when the setValue method is called for it, the combo also expands the combo box so you see the full list of options. Does anyone know what could cause that to happen? I've compared the new combo box to combo boxes in other versions of the form and I can't see any big difference in the settings.

This should only happen if the type ahead functionality is trying to filter the results.
