Could someone explain the reasons for the module.js file in the Desktop Example of ExtJS 2.0 please.

Ext.app.Module = function(config){
Ext.apply(this, config);
Ext.app.Module.superclass.constructor.call(this);
this.init();
}

Ext.extend(Ext.app.Module, Ext.util.Observable, {
init : Ext.emptyFn
});

Each module in the desktop example extends the Ext.app.Module but i dont get why? Is it purly to go via the superclass.constructor.call?

If so what are the main reasons for this?

Sorry for the 101 questions but im just trying to understand why the Desktop Example has been built in such a way.
