View Full Version : [CLOSED] OSX Snow Leopard (10.6.8) - Duplicating Documents directory

26 Feb 2012, 1:10 PM

I've tried Designer 2.0 Beta with a small test project.

Just put in a container, controller and some form fields.

The project file has been saved in my Documents directory.

When I try to preview oder deploy this project, Designer starts to duplicate my whole Documents directory into the destination path. Actually, I can't deploy or preview anything.

Saved project in ~/Documents/Designer2Test.xds
should deploy to ~/Sites/Designer2Test/

but instead, ~/Documents/* will be copied into ~/Sites/Designer2Test/

Until it's fixed, I will have to copy/paste the code manually into the proper files.

Kind regards.

When creating a project in designer it owns an entire directory. We are creating a better UI to indicate this fact.

Do the following:

cd ~/Documents/
mkdir Designer2Test
mv .metadata/ Designer2Test/
mv Designer2Test.xds Designer2Test/
mv designer.js Designer2Test/
mv designer.html Designer2Test/

You can then put in any additional files into this directory to be copied along with your deploy.

I've put a note on our ticket DSGNR-1437 to give you an update when changes are made to the ui.

And yes, an indication in the dialog about it would be great. Though, I will remember that now. ;)
