View Full Version : Ext.data.JsonReader Escape Sequences

I'm sending in JSON formatted data which contains URLs with backslashes. The url shows up perfectly fine in my firebug response, but the links on the page have all been stripped of their backslashes, I'm guessing it was done so when the reader parsed the data.

What can I do to avoid this problem? I must give a remote url to the user as the url leads to internal/server-side documents.

I have also noticed other problems where data with characters such as ' in it will screw things up royally. Should I switch to XML?

to start with, change your backslashes to forward slashes; file uri's will still work this way.
singe and double quote problems in the json are resulting from encoding problems on the server side; i have no issues using them with php's json_encode function.
