View Full Version : Row Expander Columns

Is there anyway to use the row expander plugin to render the additional data in columns under the expanded row designated columns?

For example, if my grid had columns for Name, Date and School on expand age and address would appear below name and day of the week would appear below date and grade would appear below school instead of all just being in a united (colspan = number of columns) row. :-/

The short answer is yes. In RowExander.js on this line

o.rowBodyColspan = o.rowBodyColspan - 1;

it controls how many columns your data will span. However, managing this is probably going to be a nightmare. What I would suggest is doing either an html table and styling it to work for your needs or do a nested grid. The html table is probably far simpler

Yeah, i noticed that, after a bit of playing around i discovered that if you change it to just one... and use <td></td> tags in the xtemplate it will work. I'll post an example later for those with my same problem.

thank you :)
