View Full Version : maskRe syntax

10 May 2011, 10:36 PM
Hello. I'd want to write a maskRe control that permits only strings that begin with a certain character (let it be 'A') and continues with various digits, e.g. A5968, A498456 & so on..

And is there a manual that explains the maskRe syntax?

Will be grateful for any reply. Thanks in advance.

maskRe is a JavaScript RegExp.
You can learn to write regular expressions here : https://developer.mozilla.org/en/JavaScript/Guide/Regular_Expressions

On a related note, maskRe is a filter which prevents the entry of unwanted characters.

Validation is performed via the regex attribute.
