View Full Version : Question on Editor Grid: How can turn on the columns to be editable mode right away?

18 Mar 2011, 1:03 PM
The problem that we have is that we have some columns are editable but some are not. Therefore, is it possible to make those editable columns to be editable mode right away at the time the grid getting draw so that the user can see which columns they are actually able to modify the value without click on the cell? Or is there a way to indicate the cell or column is editable? The most important for us is that we want to make it easy for user to understand the editor grid functionalities. That will be not easy enough for our users to discover the column or cell which can be editted if the users need to click on the cell in order to change the cell to be editable mode. Could someone please advise?

You can set a css class to those editable cells, in the renderer of the column.

header: ...,
dataIndex: ...,
renderer: function(val, meta, rec, row, col, store) {
meta.css += 'editcell';

In your css file:
td.editcell {border:1px dotted #ddd; background-color:#ffc;}
