View Full Version : Ext Spreadsheet Formulas?

I have created a basic spreadsheet using Ext, which works and is starting to develop into a functional spreadsheet. I have added alot of the basic functionality which you can see on the "Ext: Examples and Extras (http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?122735-Ext-Simple-Spreadsheet)" Forum.

Here is a demo of the spreadsheet: http://www.aztec-online.com/spreadsheet/

What I need help with is adding Microsoft Excel style formulas to the cells. I need to apply some kind of listener to listen for a keydown event, where the key/value is '='. Then somehow find the formula, the cells it applies to, and run a calculation. The problem is that I am unsure exactly which ways I can achieve this.

Does anyone have any ideas? I initial thought about using eval or substr and match() etc but was wondering if anyone had any clear ideas on how to proceed?

For your pointer... only have it as the crosshair over the body of the grid. Also, how do you add rows/columns? Otherwise it's a great start.
