View Full Version : HTC Liberty scrolling list issues

21 Dec 2010, 3:37 PM

I have some problem running the most simple examples of Ext.List , showing 25 elements without the indexBar nor onItemDisclosure : http://pastebin.com/cw6ARhhX

I experience some huge latency when I scroll, and if I push it, it will freeze forever.
More specifically, scrolling when the screen is already scrolling breaks it very often.

HTC Aria Liberty
kernel : 2.6.29
webkit : 3.1
firmware : 2.1-update1

The generated DOM is very simple, and shouldn't take a long time to parse. The compilation time should appear only once at the beginning.
May be this is a problem related to this specific HTC model (I don't see a lot of HTC Liberty related bugs around here, if any...).

Would that be a bug ?
Is there a way to deactivate the momentum of the scrolling ?

More details :

The phone is still running Android 2.1. A quadrant benchmark rates 404 :-) , which is very low.
I am waiting for the next Android upgrade 2.2 not available in the US yet ( http://androidandme.com/2010/12/phones/htc-manufacturers-news/htc-starts-rolling-out-android-2-2-update-for-the-htc-aria/ ) . This upgrade should bring some huge performance improvements ( 871 )

Is this really an issue, because I am facing the same problem when using HTC Aria 2.2
