View Full Version : tooltips not rendering nicely in IE7

Ext.ToolTip s don't seem to be rendered properly in IE7 when using autowidth. The same code renders fine in FF.

toolTip = new Ext.ToolTip({
target: e.target ,
title: title,
autoHide : true,
html: html ,
anchor: 'bottom',
trackMouse: true,
autoWidth: true
});In IE7 it looks like the header width is calculated to be different from the body width, but the "shadow" width is calculated to be similar to the body width for both the header and body, resulting in a really ugly tooltip.

Removing autowidth: true fixes the problem but then results in undesirable widths (usually too small). Setting a fixed width also fixes the problem but then the width may be too large or small for certain tooltip texts (as this is dynamic).

Is there some simple way to achieve a nice looking Ext tooltip in IE7?

Which Ext version? There were several fixes to tooltip anchoring in recent Ext versions.

I'm also experiencing this issue with version 3.1.1, I attempted upgrading to 3.3.0 but the problem still persisted.

Has this been confirmed as a bug?
