This module is something like SWFObject (http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/) except be based around the Ext JS framework.

I will post an example when I get a some more time and write up a better blurb.

Check it out here:

Can you either clarify to contributors the license under which stuff placed under the User Extensions wiki is (eg BSD), Or add a "License" field in the User Extensions where the Summary, Author etc info is placed?

Ultimately that is up to the developer. I put all my stuff under Creative Commons License.

Because of you suggestion I have added a license option to the Extension Info box.

Great, thanks.

Bummer about the extension name. Personally, I think calling it Ext.ux.SWF would make its purpose much more obvious.

Ya i was thinking about that too. I'm still torn about what to call it.

The appropriate name would be SWFEncapsulator but that's a bit long. How about SWFWrapper?

For Ext.ux.Swiff to work in Opera, this fix can be used:

getFlashCreate: function(source, options) {
var createObj = {};
// create object for
if(Ext.isGecko || Ext.isOpera) {

Do you think this could be extended to work with other file types? Kind of like the jQuery media plugin? I'm not familiar enough with the various file types to do anything with it...

I want to use Swiff_Placer in a window, but flash render into main page and not in my window.

Somethig like this :

video = new parent.Ext.Window({
layout: 'fit',
title: 'Aide',
width: 400,
height: 300,
modal: false,
resizable: true,
minimizable :false,
maximizable : false,
plain: true,
autoScroll : true,
items :
new Ext.ux.Swiff("aide.swf",{
width: 200, // width of the flash object
height: 200, // height of the flash object
//vars: {flashVarText: "this is a sample text"}, // variables to be passed into the flash
params: { menu: false }, // different param tags
//bgcolor: "#FF6600", // what's the bg color
//renderTo: "flashcontent" // where to render the flash to

Is it possible ?
Thankc in advance
